About the Artist:

Joakim Eide is an artist, activist and transman.
His artistic practice is multidisciplinary with trans experience at its core. He has been an activist in the Norwegian Queer Movement for 10 years.

For Joakim the activism and art goes hand in hand.
He has been the illustrator for Trans Pride and Trans Awareness Week. He has been a performance protagonist i 71Bodies: In First Person with installing and creating a flower ritual centering trans people on stage. In 2021 he made «Dear Isak» about a transmans personal journey before, during and after top surgery, as a protest to clinical and impersonal narratives about trans people. In 2022 he had a scenographic one night exhibition during the clubseries Spirals, titled Queering The Decks at Bergen Kunsthall.

Joakim got his BA in sociology and gender studies from the University in Bergen and currently studying Fine Arts.
